So, 287 Taxi Co. Ltd in Campbell River is trying to expand their services and offer more wheelchair accessible vehicles in town.
Owner Deborah Helme says currently they only have a couple of vehicles that meet their needs.
The wheelchair van is currently doing eight to 10 trips daily, and sometimes is out of town where it’s not been available to Campbell River residents.
Helme adds she is the only company this side of Port Hardy that has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
