Last chance for feedback on city’s plans to change local roads

This might be your last chance to have meaningful input into city plans to change local roads, bike lanes and sidewalks.

On April 30 the city will hold a community open house at the Maritime Heritage Centre to give the public a chance to review the new draft Master Transportation Plan and ask staff questions.

The draft has changed from last year —plans to reduce Dogwood Street to two lanes and add bike lanes have been scrapped, after near-unanimous public disapproval.

The revised plan has major improvements in store for the growing Quinsam Heights region, a multi-use path along Evergreen Road, and a sidewalk for Erickson Road.

The latest draft is currently available online, and includes maps showing where the proposed improvements will go. Currently the city is looking at improvements that can be built during the next 10 years.

If you can’t make the meeting, there will be plenty of time to provide feedback online, visit the city’s project page for details.
