Today over 425 students in 14 schools in Campbell River will receive a free copy of Island Santa.
In 2012, Children’s Health Foundation published the book in honour of the Norgaard Foundation’s $1 million donation to the foundation in support of Jeneece Place.
Health Foundation communication officer Jessica Woollard says they looked at communities who have families coming to Janeece’s place, and wanted to get the book into these children’s hands.
Woollard adds the book is based on the legacy of Kaare Norgaard.
Woollard says it’s our gift to them to spread the Christmas joy.
