Port Hardy Harvest Food Bank needs donations

There’s been a huge increase in demand, and a huge drop off in resources at the Port Hardy Harvest Food Bank.
Organizer Andy Cornell says with the recent layoff of jobs, their food bank has gone up 60%, and with the Super Value closing, their donations went down 50%.
Cornell says they’ve been able to keep up slightly with some donations from other food banks such as Loafs and Fishes in Nanaimo and the Campbell River Food Bank.

Cornell says if they don’t find a solution in the New Year, they will have to make some tough decisions.
He says if you want to help out in anyway, contact the Harvest Food Bank anytime.
