Last week, Canadians and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau welcomed the first Syrian refugees to our country.
And Campbell Riverite Merell Nassar says she began to cry when she saw how welcoming our government, and fellow Canadians were to these families.
Nassar has fundraised just under $60,000 dollars so far for her family, and is overjoyed and extremely thankful with the support from the community.
If you would like to help out, Nassar will be at the Pier Street Christmas Market at the Maritime Heritage centre for its last Sunday selling calendars, t-shirts, and Christmas cards.
