Campbell River looks to be part of BC's Liquefied Natural Gas boom

The first few steps have been taken in plans to create and Liquefied Natural Gas facility at the old Elk Falls Mill site in Campbell River.
David Rushford, Senior vice president and operating officer for Quicksilver Canada says they are now looking to get licenses.

He says the permit would be for 20 mega tonnes per year starting in 2021.

For right now Rushford says they are already working at the old mill site.

Rushford says if they get that license from the NEB it  would be the go ahead needed to redevelop the old mill site with the intention to ship LNG to Asia.
