Reminder to Have Emergency Kits

The quake on the south island is a reminder to be prepared.

The 4.7 magnatude quake struck just north of Victoria late Tuesday night, and was felt over much of the south island and lower mainland.

Emergency Manager George Doerkson with the Comox Valley Regional District says it’s a good reminder that we do need to be prepared, should the big one hit.

Doerkson says survivors of major earthquakes have said that being better prepared was one of the things they wished they had done before the Big One hit.

More details on putting together emergency kits can be found at Prepared BC.
