Hot days are bad for dogs left in cars

Pet owners are being reminded to leave their animals at home so that they are not spending time in hot cars.

Campbell River SPCA branch manager Stephanie Arkwright says a dog in a closed car can overheat very quickly.

She says it is a serious issue and they have been fielding calls from concerned people who notice dogs in locked hot cars.

Arkwright also recommends people call the local RCMP detachment.
