Construction on a new suspension bridge has started

If you’ve been waiting to get that stellar view over Elk Falls you will be happy to hear construction has started on the suspension bridge project.

Rotary president and project chair Lorrie Bewza says they will build viewing platforms and the bridge itself, and hopefully it will be finished by the end of August or September.

He says when it is all finished people can access a new trail branching off from the Millennium trail to reach a viewing platform.

The bridge and elevated walkways are going to cost about $700,000 and will link up to a new trail built by BC Hydro.

Bewza reminds people who walk the trails in Elk Falls park to respect their construction fencing.
