One out of three children in Campbell River by the age of five will not be ready for kindergarten.
So, Campbell River Literacy Now is bringing 1000 x 5 to the city.
Organizer Jenn Bergen says the program was first brought to their attention from a seminar in Victoria.
Through this program, gently used books are collected from the community and delivered to families who need them.
If you have any books available, you can drop them off at the Robron Centre, or before the Charlotte Diamond concert at the end of this month.
