Still no consultant for Sunshine Coast

A consultant has not yet been chosen to study the idea of a fixed link for the Sunshine Coast.

The province announced the study would be undertaken last fall and an RFP seeking a consultant was issued with the closing date of Dec. 21.

Southern Sunshine Coast Ferry Advisory Committee member, Barry Cavens says he is looking forward to seeing the study move forward.

Cavens says the consultant, according to the RFP, will want to talk to all the Sunshine Coast communities, along with business organizations and local government once the study gets going.

The study will look at the financial, economic, customer service, social and environmental effects of a fixed link.
