One dead after fatal motorcycle crash on highway 19
On Saturday, August 2, 2014 at approximately 4:15 p.m. members of the Campbell River RCMP and North Vancouver Island Traffic Services responded to a single vehicle collision on Hwy 19 North of Campbell River, approximately 2km south of Robert’s Lake.
A 63 year old male driver of a 2012 Harley Davidson Motorcycle was travelling northbound on Hwy 19 when he lost control on a sharp bend and traveled off road into the ditch. The driver from Courtenay BC, was the sole occupant and was confirmed deceased at the scene. Alcohol and prescription medication may have been contributing factors are are being investigated.
BC Coroner and the RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene as well and are conducting their investigation.
