The Rotary Club of Campbell River is ringing in the New Year and celebrating a big success, after its annual March for Children fundraiser raised thousands for the local maternity ward.
Volunteers returned to intersections around town on Saturday, December 19th, and collected over $16,000 through the annual fund.
Campbell Riverites continue to receive praise from the Rotary Club. Thanks to a flurry of donations collected through the years, more than 30 pieces of equipment have been purchased for the local hospital.
“This year, the hospital will use the funds to support the purchase of a portable ultrasound machine for the maternity department,” the club says.
If you couldn’t make it out to donate in person last month, donations can still be made through the Hospital Foundation’s website.
