A cougar that had been hanging around in the Beaver lodge area has been destroyed by conservation officers.
Officer Steve Petrovic says Tuesday evening they got two separate reports of a cougar in the Rockland Road area and they responded with their cougar hounds.
Petrovic says over the past week there have been numerous cougar reports in the area.
Petrovic reminds everyone to report in any encounters with wild animals to 1 877 952 7277 to help the conservation service out with their response.
