John Howard Society KidStart Mentoring Program

Volunteers of all ages are needed to help mentor and be a good influence for vulnerable youth in our community. Hang out with your ‘buddy’ once a week for 3 hours doing fun or relaxing activities. Skip rocks, tell jokes, go for a walk, play at the park, whatever makes the child happy! There are over 130 children on the wait list and anxious to be paired with a mentor, but some wait up to 2-5 years. It's breaking our…

The Garden at Charstate

Art students at Timberline Secondary School have been busy making spectacular work this year, which will be on displayed at the Tidemark Theatre until the end of April. This year’s student art show features over 80 pieces including acrylic and watercolour paintings, drawings, ceramic sculptures, digital art and more. The Grand Opening is on Tuesday, Mar 20th from 5pm to 6:30pmand many of the student artists will be in attendance. Daffodil Month

April 1 - April 30

For the month of April, the Canadian Cancer Society wants you to know that volunteers will be selling daffodil pins or canvassing door-to-door in the Campbell River area. Street Teams are also going to be in the community on April 21st. Money raised will go towards funding cancer research and support services which helps local patients and their families. Pinecrest Elementary Auction

Scheduled for the month of April, 2018, Pinecrest Elementary be holding an online auction. They will be auctioning off gift card, merchandise, and services generously donated by individuals and businesses. All proceeds from this event will be used to purchase playground equipment. 25 items will be posted each week, with the value and starting bid will be posted for each item.
