New barge in Campbell River brings boost to economy

Campbell River’s new aquaculture barge will be completed this week with a few final touches left.

The barge is a feed system, which stores feed and delivers the food to each cage for salmon.

Spokesperson Dave Pedersen says the final project cost over $2 million dollars and overall helped the local economy.

The fish feed storage barge is the biggest concrete float ever built by Pacific Marine Construction.
