Early Monday morning, Campbell River RCMP responded to a call in the 3000 block of South Island Highway from a homeowner who interrupted a theft on her property.
Constable Sara Clark says the owner woke up, opened the blinds, and saw two males trying to steal a large brass propeller from her yard.
Clark says she ran out of the residence yelling at them. As the men took off, the owner took the tire iron they had dropped and smashed the passenger side windshield, and hit the passenger window.
Clarks say the suspects fled in a white medium sized car, possibly 10-20 years old.
Campbell River RCMP is asking if anyone has any information on this incident, or the suspect vehicle please contact Campbell River RCMP or Crime stoppers.
