Setting a new record for exports

B.C. set a new record for exports of farm-raised salmon this year.

This past year, the province has a 40% increase in export value from the previous high in 2012 to the U.S., as well as a 40% increase in trade value over the previous record in 2013 to China.

Executive Director of B.C. Salmon Farmer’s Association Jeremy Dunn says they weren’t surprised by the numbers, but were encouraged by them.

Dunn says they can’t meet all the needs of their trading partners right now, but they know it’s a great opportunity to grow.
