Being Prepared for the Outdoors

If you’re heading out into the outdoors this long weekend, make sure to be prepared.

Search and Rescue manager Tim Fairbank says to always bring the ten essentials to be fully prepared, such as a source of fire, a whistle, extra clothes, extra food and water, and a source of navigation.

He also says before leaving, make sure to let someone know where you’re going, how long you’re going for, and when you’ll be back.

Fairbank says if you’re friend is missing; don’t hesitate to call sooner rather than later.
