Dangers of Laundry Pods

Since laundry detergent pods were introduced to Canada in 2012, there has been 467 calls about exposure to them at the BC Drug and Poison Information Centre.
Dr. Roy Purssell, medical lead of the Centre, says while parents may see the pods as easy and convenient, young children can confuse them with candy and might try to eat them.

Purssell says between 2012 and 2015, there has been 150 visits to B-C emergency rooms, most of those were for children under the age of six.
