The City of Campbell River is beginning its annual weed management program.
Spokesperson Ron Neufeld says some targeted spraying will be taking place, starting this week.
He says weeds can do a surprising amount of damage to city infrastructure, like sidewalks and curbs.
Neufeld says the city is also working to control invasive plants in the area, such as giant hogweed and knotweed.
