Derelict Vessels still an issue

The NDP say they have another example of the cost to coastal communities in B.C. when derelict vessels are not dealt with.
Island Member of Parliament Sheila Malcolmson has again raised the issue in the House of Commons.
She says in the course of research, the BC Ferry and Marine Workers’ Union and BC Ferries management talked about an incident last March when the Queen of Oak Bay, hit an overturned sailboat.

Malcolmson is calling for a bill to legislate the Coast Guard as the authority to look after the disposal of derelict vessels.
