The cougar that attacked a kayaker at Rugged Point Marine Park near Kyuquot Sound has so far not been found.
The Conservation Service had deployed a predator attack team to the area early Friday morning.
They are saying the offending animal has not been back to the beach where the attack happened.
The kayaker who was attacked late last week Thursday afternoon had minor injuries and was taken to hospital in Port McNeill.
Rugged Point Marine Park remains closed and conservation officers are monitoring the area.
