Statistics Canada is thanking Canadians for a record-setting census.
Director General of the Census Program Marc Hamel says 98.4 per cent of Canadians responded to the survey.
Hamel notes Canadians also set a world record – with more than two-thirds opting to complete their survey online.
The first round of data will be released in February, which will include the new population count.
