With the lifting of the campfire ban by the Coastal Fire Centre, Campbell River Fire Department is following suit.
Beach fires will again be allowed in the city.
Deputy Chief Thomas Doherty says it’s still important that people use caution and follow the rules.
Doherty says crews were called out Monday to a brush fire that had been caused by an abandoned beach fire.
