People are being urged to be cautious with campfires this weekend.
The Coastal Fire Centre has now lifted the campfire ban for the entire Coastal Fire Centre region – the ban on the North Island was lifted earlier this week.
Fire Information Officer Donna MacPherson says they are still urging people to use caution and keep an eye out for columns of smoke.
MacPherson says if you do have a campfire, be sure to make sure it’s fully out before you leave your campsite.
