Protect yourself from whooping cough

Members of the public are being advised to ensure your whooping cough vaccines are up to date.

Medical Health Officer Doctor Charmaine Enns says there has been an increase in cases across Vancouver Island in recent months.

She says infants are the most at risk to be seriously affected by whooping cough.

Enns says if you’re not sure if your shots are up to date, the best thing to do is contact the local health unit, which has a vaccination database.
