Extreme Weather Shelter reopens this season

The City of Campbell River is reopening the extreme weather shelter this winter.

City Manager Deborah Sargent says the city looked at number of locations for the shelter, and found that the fire hall location, where the shelter was last year was the best choice in terms of access and proximity to other services, as well as its availability to electricity.

Sargent says Campbell River says the city has also contributed five-thousand dollars to make any modifications for general wear and tear. The extreme weather shelter is located at 675 13th Avenue.
