Being safe on the roads

The BC Coroners Service is asking both drivers and pedestrians to keep an eye out for each other as the days get shorter. Coroner Barb McLintock says there were double the number of pedestrian fatalities in October than we usually have in British Columbia.

She says it’s important that pedestrians don’t assume a driver has seen you.

McLintock says distraction also continues to be a problem for both drivers and pedestrians and it’s important everyone has their full attention on the road, especially when it’s dark and stormy out.
