The City of Campbell River is looking to grow the tourism industry in the region.
The city is reaching an agreement with many hotels to apply for the implementation of a 3% hotel tax.
Economic Development Officer for the City, Rose Klukas, says the money collected from the tax will allow them to develop tourism promotion.
Klukas says the 9 member committee will be broken down into 2 categories. She says it will comprise of people with major experience in the tourism sector.
The application is expected to be approved in 2017.
