Salmon runs continue, challenged by dry conditions

Local fisherman have been enjoying the bounty of this years salmon return.
Andrew Thomson area director for Fisheries and Oceans Canada says recreational fisherman have been very successful.

Thomson says the Fraser River Sockeye return, much of which passed by on the East coast of Vancouver Island, was great for area commercial fisherman.

Thomson adds right now there are still concerns about low water levels, despite that salmon are moving up river.
He says they are predicting a strong Chinook return and an average Coho return.
