SAR allocates funding to support groups

The BC Search and Rescue Association has decided how to use 10-million dollars in one-time funding provided by the province.

The funding was announced earlier this year to help support SAR groups across the province.

Spokesperson Jim McAllister says the funding will be spread over two years to allow groups to plan and prepare for training an equipment needs.

McAllister notes that stable funding is something that volunteer search and rescue groups have been calling on for some time.
