City councillor Larry Samson highlighted the issue of garbage at the latest council meeting.
He distributed pictures of overflowing garbage cans outside homes and plastic bags with garbage spilling out.
City clerk Peter Wipper explained there are rules surrounding curb side garbage pick up, but under the current bylaw enforcement is done based on complaints.

Council didn’t support Samson’s motion to have city staff look into the issue.
Samson put forward a second motion asking city staff to look at what action can be taken against convenience stores that don’t address garbage in their area.
 He showed photos of garbage near a few local convenience stores.
City staff have been asked to create a report looking at the situation.
