Viola Desmond has been chosen as the face of the new Canadian $10 bill.
She is the first Canadian woman to grace the front a bank note.
Desmond is often described as “Canada’s Rosa Parks” for her decision to take a seat in a whites-only section of a Nova Scotia movie theatre in 1946.
