The HOPE awards made a return to Campbell River this year.
The awards began as a project to reduce the stigma of mental illness. Program coordinator with Campbell River Mental Health And Substance Use, Leslie Maclennan, says the award ceremony is also an opportunity to promote the importance of mental health awareness and wellness.
Maclennan says it’s important the community be engaged and come together to support awareness within the community.
