New Tax Looks To Grow Local Tourism

A new hotel tax is set to be implemented in Campbell River.

The province has approved the city’s application for a three percent hotel tax.

The funds will go towards growing the tourism and tourism marketing sector.

City Economic Development Officer Rose Klukas says with big events coming to town in the New Year, everyone stands to prosper.

The tax will be applied starting March 1st, 2017.
