Feds Ease E.I Wait

The Employment Insurance waiting period is being shortened.

Starting this month, the waiting period is being reduced from two weeks to one.

The Federal Government says shortening the waiting period is expected to ease the financial strain for EI claimants and will cost an additional 650 million dollars.

The reduction of the waiting period applies to all types of E.I benefits.
