Keep an eye out for Flaggers on the road

The co-founder of the BC Flagging Association says motorists need to pay attention.

This comes in the wake of a flagger in Langford who was hospitalized after being hit in a collision with a motorist.

Tammy Sampson says distracted driving continues to be a massive part of the problem, compromising workers and motorists safety.

“We still have a lot of people texting and driving,” she says. She adds that, “it would be most helpful if people made eye contact with the flag people.”

Sampson states if you’re approaching a construction zone, slow down immediately and pay extra attention to your surroundings.
