Conservation Officer says a call to their tip line resulted in three people being fined for hunting illegally

Three Abbotsford residents are facing a hefty fine after being found guilty of illegal hunting stemming from an incident back in September of 2013.

 

Conservation officer Gord Gudbranson says a concerned Campbell River resident called the RAPP line after they saw something suspicious just after 3 am on the inland Island highway near Campbell River.

 

The RCMP responded and found the suspect vehicle and a dead black tail deer.

 

After an investigation by the conservation officers and suggested charges the three men plead guilty to hunting during prohibited hours.

 

Gudbranson says they are commending the concerned Campbell River resident called the RAPP line after seeing something suspicious on the highway between Jubilee Parkway and Willis Road.

 

Gudbrunson says one of the men’s hunting rifles was also forfeited by the court.
