Conservation Officer says a call to their tip line resulted in three people being fined for hunting illegally

Three Abbotsford residents are facing a hefty fine after being found guilty of illegal hunting stemming from an incident back in September of 2013.

Conservation officer Gord Gudbranson says a concerned Campbell River resident called the RAPP line after they saw something suspicious just after 3 am on the inland Island highway near Campbell River.

The RCMP responded and found the suspect vehicle and a dead black tail deer.

After an investigation by the conservation officers and suggested charges the three men plead guilty to hunting during prohibited hours.
