Gail Kirschner has been declared the school trustee-elect for Area 2, Sayward Valley, after a judicial recount on Thursday, November 27, 2014 left the riding still undetermined and forced a draw between Kirschner and incumbent, Barbara Bowbrick.
In accordance with section 141 of the Local Government Act, the name of each candidate was then written on a separate piece of paper, folded, and drawn under the direction of the court, with Kirschner’s name being drawn.
As all the elected representatives have now been determined, the new Board of Education for School District 72 will be sworn in at an inaugural meeting on Tuesday, December 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the School Board office.
