The city of Campbell River is using a multi-pronged approach to raise attention to road safety.
The city has launched it’s Summer Safe Driving campaign.
Ron Neufeld, Deputy City Manager, says one part of the approach is attention to road work and crews.
The other involves the elimination of distractions.
“The biggest recommendation we have is putting your digital device down and non engaging with your phone or smart phone while you’re driving.”
Neufeld points out statistics show distracted driving is a leading cause of many accidents in BC, and with summer rolling in, the safety of all on the road is paramount.
