Police investigate more break and enters in Campbell River

On Sunday December 7, 2014 at 12:02 am, Campbell River RCMP responded to a complaint of a residential break and enter to a home in the 2300 block of Campbell River Road that had occurred sometime between Saturday December 6 at 4:00 pm and the time of reporting.  The suspect(s) smashed a spare bedroom window and made entry, however nothing was reported stolen.   Forensic Identification Section attended and processed the scene for evidence.
On Monday December 8, 2014 at 8:12 am, Campbell River RCMP responded to a complaint of attempted break and enter to the compound at Fountain Tire located at 1661 Willow Street.  The exterior gate bolts were cut and an audible alarm was tripped.  It doesn’t appear anything was stolen and video surveillance is being reviewed.
On Monday December 8, 2014 at 8:15 pm, Campbell River RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter and theft at Discovery Marine Centre at 2625 Island Highway.  The suspect(s) gained entry by smashing a front door and stole a very unique red generator on wheels, valued at $1000.  More information on the generator to follow….

On Tuesday December 9, 2014 at 2:19 am, Campbell River RCMP responded to a glass break alarm at the Merecroft Village Liquor Store.  Police attended the scene and found someone had thrown a rock through the front door window, but no entry was gained.  Police detained a 21 year old female leaving the scene and review of the video footage confirmed this female was responsible for attempting to break into the store.  The female, from Campbell River, was arrested and transported to the Campbell River RCMP Detachment.  She was released from custody and will make her first court appearance on February 16, 2015 to answer to the charge of break and enter.
