Travelling through the Comox Valley just got safer and easier.
A new road connection, which includes a new bridge, between Headquarters Road and Piercy north of Courtenay opened today. That connection now gives travelers a route with no stop signs or signal lights between Vanier Drive and Condensory Road.
Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Claire Trevena says the new route is straighter, wider, and safer for not only drivers but pedestrians and cyclists as well. She adds the more direct link makes it easier for people looking to get to things like the ferry, the airport and the new hospital.
