Campbell River is looking to plan ahead for rising sea levels.
The city is applying to the Union of B C Municipalities’ Emergency Preparedness Fund. It’s asking for $150,000.
If the application is successful the city says the money will be spent on studies to figure out the potential impact of a rise in the sea level on the Willow Point and Painter-Barclay neighbourhoods.
The city expects to have an answer to its application by early January. It’s also applying for additional funding for studies on the downtown and estuary areas.
