The NDP says it’s delivered on its promise to freeze BC Hydro rates.
Last year BC Hydro applied for three years of increases with a three per cent increase planned for next year. That request is being pulled back.
The provincial government says the rate freeze will give it the time to do a comprehensive review of BC Hydro to find changes and cost savings. BC Hydro rates have gone up by more than 24% in the last four years, and by more than 70% since 2001.
