New Habitat for Humanity build gets permit

Campbell River city council has approved a new Habitat for Humanity build.

The 477 Hilchey Road project’s development permit was passed at Monday’s meeting. The project includes 11 units in four duplex buildings and one triplex.

Council also agreed to fund development and parkland dedication charges. That brings the city’s total investment in the project to just over $120,000.

The city says the Habitat build supports its affordable housing strategy by giving lower-income people a chance to buy their own home.
