BC Transplant says pilot program to get more people registered is working

BC Transplant says 95% of British Columbians say they support organ donation, but only 19% have actually registered.

They’re trying to change that, and they’ve had some success recently with a pilot project launched in Port Alberni, Salmon Arm, Quesnel and Dawson Creek.

Service BC offices there are providing information about registering as an organ donor, and since September, 360 people have signed up.

BC Transplant’s Peggy John says that’s a great start.

John says you can register online at the BC Transplant website.
