School board looking at codifying teacher leave policy

The District 72 School Board is considering adding deferred salary leave for teachers to its new policy handbook.

The issue was discussed at the board’s meeting on Wednesday night.  The longstanding policy allows teachers to take a one-year leave of absence with deferred pay.

The board recently moved to a governance model which is why the leave policy needs to be added to governance policy handbook.  The board will vote on it at the next meeting on January 31^st.
