Another sea lion in distress in Fanny Bay

South of Courtenay, an entangled sea lion needs some urgent help in the Fanny Bay area.

Local photographer Netonia Chatelaine says the sea lion appears to have a rope tangled around its neck and rope is penetrating the animal’s flesh. She says it could be several days before a Vancouver Aquarium doctor responds to this, adding there needs to be more people trained to handle these incidents.

Chatelaine played a key role in the rescue of another sea lion, Kiyo, earlier this year.
