BC Hydro is ramping up the water discharge from the John Hart facilities. That’s to deal with the increased water levels the recent rains have caused.
BC Hydro says the Upper Campbell Reservoir is sitting at about 218 metres, up 1.5 metres over the past week. The company gets concerned when the level approaches 220 metres or more.
People are being asked to stay away from the Campbell River from Elk Falls to the estuary through next Tuesday while the extra water is spilled.
